  • Overview

    Provide high-level environmental, heatlth and safety support to the organization.  Position reports to the Director of Operations.


    • Plans, develops and manages company policies for adhering to local, state and federal environment, health and safety regulations as well as quality requirements.
    • Designs and develops facilities, work areas and work procedures including leading all Lean/5S intitiatives, job hazardous analysis, work area layouts, etc.
    • Directs preparation and updating of environmental, health and safety policies, manuals and training.
    • Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations particualrly SDS, HAZMAT and OSHA, owns associated audits
    • Leads the Safety Team regarding projects, tasks, and operations.
    • Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget.
    • Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility.
    • Responsible for resolving escalated issues arising from operations or safety concerns and requiring coordination with other departments.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health, safety, chemistry or related engineering discipline
    • 5 years related safety experience, and 2 years experience managing personnel
    • Excellent organizational and motivational skills
    • Excellent attention to detail and observation ability
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience leading Lean/5S initiatives, job hazard analyses, work area layouts, etc. is preferred
