Provide high-level environmental, heatlth and safety support to the organization. Position reports to the Director of Operations.
Plans, develops and manages company policies for adhering to local, state and federal environment, health and safety regulations as well as quality requirements.
Designs and develops facilities, work areas and work procedures including leading all Lean/5S intitiatives, job hazardous analysis, work area layouts, etc.
Directs preparation and updating of environmental, health and safety policies, manuals and training.
Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations particualrly SDS, HAZMAT and OSHA, owns associated audits
Leads the Safety Team regarding projects, tasks, and operations.
Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget.
Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility.
Responsible for resolving escalated issues arising from operations or safety concerns and requiring coordination with other departments.
Bachelor’s degree in occupational health, safety, chemistry or related engineering discipline
5 years related safety experience, and 2 years experience managing personnel
Excellent organizational and motivational skills
Excellent attention to detail and observation ability
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Experience leading Lean/5S initiatives, job hazard analyses, work area layouts, etc. is preferred
