  • Overview

    The Business Development Manager (BDM) reports to the Director of Strategic Planning and has primary responsibility for developing, growing and managing the relationship between UEC Electronics and emerging customers identified as strategic growth targets.  The BDM will be equally accountable for revenue and profitability numbers of the target customers. 

     

    Responsibilities

    • An established sales and Business Development Manager (BDM) with experience developing opportunities for complex integrated assemblies (circuit cards, wires & enclosures) in the Defense and/or Aerospace Market.
    • Technically proficient in terms of the build-to-print manufacturing process, as well as, communicating recommended design changes to customers which will result in a reduction in manufacturing costs and/or delivery schedules.
    • Requires an extensive sales network from 10 years of successful sales to the Defense and/or Aerospace Market.
    • Skilled in terms of international sales, contract negotiations, equipment presentation and demonstration, as well as reporting and forecasting to company leadership.
    • Knowledgeable with non-US distributor networks for global product sales.
    • Experience leading the preparation and execution of large bids to include:  assembling teams for pursuits, developing capture strategies, documenting requirements and articulating our competitive advantage to the customer.
    • Documented success for sales and business development in the unique and challenging contract manufacturing market for Defense and/or Aerospace. 
    • In addition to contract manufacturing services, a sales professional who can capitalize on engineering design opportunities which will lead to long term production.
    • A true sales professional who understands the challenges of building a successful business environment for both customers and the business as well as insight into customers' strategic growth plans.

    • Mature relationship development skills – high emotional intelligence.
    • Well-developed self-motivation skills and ability to work remotely with a cross functional matrixed team.
    • Ability to prioritize work and meet competing or short-notice deadlines consistently.
    • Motivated self-starter with ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Exceptionally strong oral and written communication skills.
    • In-depth knowledge of the markets and customers.

    • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use Excel and other tools as required.
    • Strong business acumen, team building skills and the ability to engage internally and represent UEC Electronics across senior level customer forums.
    • Willing to travel 50% or greater
